Tom was fantastic!! He was very easy to work with and was very quick to repond to emails and calls. He made sure that everyone knew the 'game plan' for the reception. He gave us an amazing soundtrack to dance to-with just the right combo of songs! Our guests apreciated being able to request songs and kept to the 'do not play' list.

Tom and Block Rockin' Beats was recommended to me by another local DJ, so I gave him a call--I am so glad I did. Tom was very responsive and super easy to work with. I felt very comfortable and confident about choosing Block Rockin' Beats for our wedding, especially after the first meeting my now-husband and I had with Tom. We discussed our weddings and our lives/personalities/interests so that Tom could get a feel for us as a couple, and the three of us sat talking for a long time. I really appreciated that; I never felt like I was "just a number", or that it was all business (like I did after meeting with another, very corporate, big DJ service). Tom kept in touch w/ me throughout the planning process, and he was extremely accommodating to our random song requests. Which is a good thing, as we had several. :)On the day of the wedding, he kept everything organized, which is a big help seeing as how you are being pulled in 800 different directions on your wedding day. It was very comforting to know that someone had everything under control--he was always around and was never "missing", as I have heard other DJs tend to do.My favorite thing about my experience w/ Block Rockin' Beats was the fact that during our dinner, Tom pulled out some slightly more obscure songs by some of the artists that my now-husband and I had mentioned liking. I got really excited about that, and we had guests come to us and tell us how awesome it was to hear _____ song at our reception. It really made me feel like Tom puts a lot of thought/caring into the whole affair. It made the night that much more special.

Tom with Block Rockin' Beats was more than we ever could have imagined! As musicians ourselves, music was the most important aspect of our reception. We were looking for a great DJ that would keep everyone dancing all night and would be able to cater to people ages 2-93. Tom was the perfect fit! He asked the right questions to get to know who we are and what we wanted, had a lot of organized templates and resources, and in addition to many phone conferences, met with us in person twice to ensure everything would run smoothly.Tom went above his responsibilities as our DJ and made sure that we were comfortable upon our arrival at the reception hall and even got our drinks from the bar. He helped personalize the reception by allowing us to borrow microphones and sing a song for our guests. He followed all of our "please play" and "do not play" requests perfectly. The way he ordered the songs kept people on the dance floor and everyone enjoyed the music--no matter if they grew up in the '90s or the '60. Our dance floor was packed the whole night!Though we were already impressed by Tom's business ethic and DJ-ing ability, I was floored by his follow-up. He didn't just end the job when our reception ended; he made sure to e-mail us in the days following to make sure we were satisfied. No other vendor we hired did this.We got a lot of great feed-back from our family and friends saying how much they enjoyed our wedding reception and we know this is largely due to Tom.

Tom Rotter provided the most excellent service!! We would highly reccomend him to other couples! He made himself readily available to make song changes, song requests, and to answer any questions we had at all hours of the day! We could even call him when we heard a song on we liked and he would find it!! The day of the wedding he kept our reception moving and maintained a natural flow! He adapted to any changes we wanted the day of our event! What more could you ask for???Thank you Tom for making our reception seamless and sooooo much fun!!We would highly reccomend Tom to our best friends and family!!

Tom did an amazing job at our wedding reception! He was so easy to work with before the wedding and he was always on the same page as us. He helped keep the evening flawless and the guests dancing all night!

Tom is awesome! He surpassed our expectations for a DJ. Most of our music (ceremony & reception) was very non traditional. Tom was fine with that and took the list I provided seriously. Someone requested a song on the do not play list. Instead of telling them no, he came and asked if we didn't mind. He went way above and beyond a traditional wedding DJ. We has some rain towards the end of our reception and Tom moved all his equipment so we could keep the party going. Whatever you want from a DJ, Tom can do it. Of all our vendors, he responded to communication the fastest. I will def use him again and refer him to my friends and family. Thank you sooo much, Tom!! You made our day.

Tom was amazing! We were able to completely customize the playlist for our wedding, and he was able to find really obscure songs for us--like Batdance by Prince. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ!!!

Tom was the life of the party. I heard so many comments from our guests like "who picked these songs because they are awesome". If you want a wedding reception where your guests are having a great time I highly recommend Tom. He worked with me and my husband's schedule. There was never any pressure to pick this song or that song. The price was right on. I just can't say enough about what a wonderful experience working with Tom was!

Tom Rotter of Block Rockin' Beats is AWESOME! He did my sister's wedding, and I loved all the music and how he announced everything, so I decided to book him for my wedding. He really goes above and beyond to make sure the night will run smoothly. He gives great song suggestion lists for you to look through and then lets you pick out the songs you must have at the reception. Therefore, you know what to expect at the reception, and he mixes the songs so perfectly that he had everyone dancing the entire time! He won't play songs if you don't want them--he even came up to us during the reception to ask if another guest's requested song was ok to play. He made sure our timing was great so we started the dancing on time. He met with us several times to go over how we wanted things to run. Tom is the best DJ I've heard hands down!

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Tom on both the pre-planning and day of my wedding. He was super fun and creative when putting together the playlist for the big day and did a great job keeping my dancefloor packed! His enthusiasm and excitment during the announcement of the wedding party and special dances was exactly what I was looking for and really set the tone to make it an incredible party and memorable night! Tom was exactly what we wanted from a dj. Laid back, not cheesy, and a genuinely nice guy. He took the time to really understand what we were looking for and made sure he had all of our odd song requests. Very professional and super easy to work with. I cannot emphasize that enough, when planning a wedding, at some point you just want the decision to be easy and to know you made the right one. Tom Rotter took ALL of the stress out of the reception music.

Where to start...Tom is the bomb. He did our wedding on June 26, 2010; and we attended another wedding that he did this past weekend. If you want your dance floor packed all night long, a DJ that is highly organized and pleasure to do business with, not-your-typical cheesy DJ, and overall a great MC for the night, Tom is your guy. We planned our St. Louis wedding from Chicago, and it couldn't have been easier. Tom was flexible with meetings (both in person and over the phone), quick on e-mail, and really "got" our musical tastes right away. He made suggestions, found rare songs that we requested, and offered advice on vendors and other aspects of our wedding when asked. Tom was one of my favorite wedding vendors, and as a testament to how good he is, one of my bridesmaids called and booked him the day after our wedding (thus the epic dance party we had this past weekend!) His has great prices for the service that he offers. Knowledgeable, professional, fun...like I said, the bomb. My husband and I loved working with him, and would recommend him to anyone who wants to enjoy their reception and their wedding planning! :)

So many great things I could say about Tom...First and most importantly, he MADE our reception, hands down! He just NAILED everything! Music was great all night, but what's more is the fact that he went ABOVE AND BEYOND before the event. He met us at our venue to walk through and brainstorm ideas for our entrance, first and last dance, etc. We both instantly connected with Tom, and we will recommend him to ALL of our friends! An amazing find!!

Tom was great both before the wedding and on that day. We liked him right away, and he totally got our “no cheesy DJ” requirement. He listened to what we wanted, made some suggestions, and checked in with us several times to confirm everything. Two nights before the wedding he called me just to go through everything again after our final meeting and make sure we were on the same page. He kept people on the dance floor and was great at reading the crowd. He also checked in with us a few times throughout the night to make sure that everything was going smoothly. I got married on May 15, 2010. Tom Rotter from Block Rockin' Beats was my awesome DJ on my big day, who kept the party going all night long! Really, the dance floor was never empty. Tom is easygoing and a professional. He would do his best to make sure your big day is exactly what you brides want.

From the first communication through the very last song played at our reception (the crowd wanted Tom to keep the party going!) I could not have been more pleased with Tom Rotter's services. We planned our St. Louis wedding from NYC and didn't have time to meet with a lot of vendors. I found Tom through recommendations on a message board and was immediately impressed with his timely communications and willingness to tailor our reception to our tastes. He met with us after we booked him and made himself very available the week of the wedding to go over last minute details. Tom is not cheesy, nor is he a pre-packaged DJ. He is very laid back and has a knack for knowing when to play what songs (e.g. not playing a slow song when there is a packed dance floor) is amazing. We prepared a list of "must play" songs and Tom did a great job interspersing them with other crowd favorites. Tom even found some “hard to locate” songs to play for our cocktail hour and dances – absolutely amazing service. I have no hesitation recommending Tom to anyone. I think you will be happy with his demeanor and ease in working with him both before and during the wedding.
