Kakao Chocolate

Amazing people at Kakao, seriously. They are short, sweet (pun intended) and to the point. They know what they are doing and they know what they can do. I went in kind of last minute and asked them for a strange assortment for my favors-my husband is from New Zealand and I lived there for awhile...while there our typical date food was fish and chips and that is what we ate when he proposed :) So I wanted a fish and some bars of chocolate that looked like fries and they helped me without even flinching! :) They looked great in the little bags they had, and were delivered on time and in great condition!!! I loved working with them and will probably use them for other occasions :)

I decided on favors less than 2 weeks before my wedding. I ordered party favor gift tins through gamiworks shop on etsy. http://www.etsy.com/listing/45119940/assortment-of-5-japanese-chiyogami-party. I called Kakao's Maplewood location and asked if it was possible to do chocolates that close to the wedding. They were so friendly both on the phone and in the shop and never made me feel bad for waiting till the last minute. We decided to order their very popular dark chocolate caramel with salt and the guests loved them! I have never met the owner but I have to say that his employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional.

For our wedding favors, we wanted to give our guests a real treat -- not just a trinket. We decided truffles would be a good idea: one of my husband's favorites, and one of mine. We went into the Kakao shop on a Saturday (Brian was great about accomodating our crazy schedules), and Brian had all kinds of truffles and other treats ready for us to try. He even gave us a few to give to our families to see what they thought. We ended up going with one lavendar milk chocolate truffle, and one Scotch dark chocolate truffle. We provided our own personalized boxes, but Kakao also had several nice options of their own you could choose from. They even tied tiny blue ribbons around the boxes for us at the last minute. The favors looked beautiful on the tables, and the chocolate got rave reviews! Once we tried them, we couldn't pass up the dragees, toasted almonds with caramel, chocolate and cocoa. Brian helped us brainstorm a way we could include them. We decided to put dishes out on the dinner tables as coffee and desert were served. Everyone said the same thing: "I LOVE those chocolate nut things!" The quality of the product is excellent, and Brian is extremely helpful and accomodating. I highly recommend Kakao for favors - very stress free.

We were so thrilled with the Kakao Chocolates at our wedding. The variety of flavors was wonderful, and our guests couldn't stop talking about them. I would highly recomend them to any bride as favors or part of the meal.

Brian did an excellent job creating fabulous chocolates for our reception favors. He was professional, courteous and had lots of great suggestions. He was always available and he definitely willing to go the extra mile.
