Michael Lauren Weddings

Michael provides a service that most, if any, other DJs in the KC area offer. He really takes the time to get to know his couples and truly builds a reception for THEM, not just a cookie-cutter reception. He was very structured with everything and ensured everything happened timely. Our reception went too fast because we were having such a blast dancing...never a lull on the dancefloor! We are so happy we chose Michael and would highly recommend him to any couple looking for a quality DJ for their wedding!!!

Wow, that is pretty much all I can say. My husband and I meet with a few DJ's before booking with Michael, because we wanted to make sure we were making the right decision because I think a lot of people overlook or under budget a DJ. They are truely the ones that make your reception smooth or break it. And Michael from the day we meet him to the time he left the wedding, both Patrick and I were impressed. He was very flexible and understanding. Patrick and I actually live an hour away so we dont come to the City that often, but when we did he would always try to find time and meet with us even though I believe it was his day off. He meet with us 3 or 4 times before the wedding, just to really get to know Patick and I. And I think he did capture who Patrick and I really are in the music he picked for our wedding. And what was so great is that he was very easy to work request. Because my husband and I got married on St. Patricks Day we wanted some Irish music for the cocktail hour as well as a little during dinner. It was very nice. And when it was time ver certain events he would come find Patrick and I. So it was great from a Bride and Grooms point of view because we didn't have to worry about a thing, it really was very stressfree. Nothing bad happened, and if something did go wrong Neither Patrick or I knew anything about it and he took care of it, which I think is the best compliment you can give. Michael did an outstanding job for our NYE wedding. We could not have asked for more. He was extremely easy to work with and truly is in this business for the right reason, it is clear he loves his job. Without exaggeration, Mike was simply amazing. We had a very classy wedding in the middle of the day with a very eclectic group of people. For starters, it was a mix wedding (I'm Peruvian my husband is American) and even though I wanted to incorporate a tradition that Mike had never heard of before, he researched it, and nailed it! Everybody keeps telling me that they've never been to a wedding that every single song was danced. Mike can read the mood of the people and play exactly what's needed. He's extremely professional, not cheesy, and will go above and beyond what a normal DJ would do in order to make your wedding day, the most special day possible. My wedding, according to my friends, was "the best wedding they've ever been to."

Within 5 minutes of meeting Michael we knew we were going to hire him. He was very friendly, easy to talk to, an excellent communicator and was enthusiastic about making sure all of our needs and wants were met. He responded very quickly to every single email I sent him and was always available when I had a question. He and his wife met with us multiple times until every last detail of our ceremony and reception were ironed out. He even attended our wedding rehearsal to make sure he knew everyone in our bridal party and to discuss the details with our pastor and wedding planner! Michael and his wife make an awesome team, they played all of the songs we had requested as well as a lot of other music that kept our party going. Just as important, he left out a lot of the songs you stereotypically hear at weddings that we didn't want to have at ours (the chicken dance, YMCA, macarena etc). He stayed until the last people left (which was actually us!) and kept people from ages 5-75 dancing all night! We had TONS of compliments from our friends and family. After our wedding we were actually sad to see him go because we had developed a relationship with him and his wife over the months of planning. Hiring him was definitely one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. I would reccomend him to any other couple who just wants to be relaxed and have fun at their reception, he made it all a blast for everyone!

Besides great food and the dress of your dreams...hiring Michael Lauren Weddings for your DJ services is the one other thing you need to do! We have all been to receptions that just didn't have any energy or lagged in some way...Michael took care of every detail of the reception and it flowed perfectly. I didn't have to worry about a thing...which is what you want most on your big day :) I cannot say enough good things about the value that they provided...Extremely professional and they really took the time to get a feel for what me and my husband wanted to accomplish with our reception. Michael Lauren Weddings provided a beautiful and exciting wedding reception that none of our guests will forget. The timing of songs played and duration of 'reception activities' kept everyone involved and there was never a dull moment. Michael Westerman was very flexible when planning the wedding and kept all of his promises. Don't waste you time with other cheesy DJ companies in the KC area, go straight to Michael and you won't be disappointed!

We just got married July 30, 2011 and it was the best day of my life!! I was super excited for the reception due to Mike being our DJ!! To start off with he meets with you multiple times before your wedding day to make sure the music and specifics you want him to do and not do! He is amazing in getting the crowd out on the dance floor and keeping things flowing so its not the typical boring wedding! And at the end of the night he is not just only your DJ but a friend that you know did his best!!!!!! Thanks Mike for doing everything you did for our day it went great!!!!

I don't know if there's enough good things I can say about Michael and the services he provided for my husband and I on our wedding day. We had a big issue to deal with when the cake didn't show up, but Michael along with the reception venue all worked to smooth things out, alter the timeline to give the venue a bit more time to get some backup cake slices ready to go, and do it all without breaking a sweat. He checked in with us as the night progressed, making sure we were around and ready before starting the "big" events like the planned dances, the bouquet and garter, and the last dance. He played all of our "must play" songs, none of our "do not play under any circumstances" songs, and kept the dance floor hopping through our incredibly fun reception. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone and everyone looking for a quality DJ/Emcee/generally awesome music guy in the KC Area! (Oh, and he's totally not cheesy. Just fun!)

Mike did a great job with our wedding reception. We met with him 3 times before the actual date and he helped us a lot. My husband is a music snob and does not like Top 40 or pop music, while I don't mind it. Mike helped us find a combination of songs that would show both of our interest as well as keeping our guest entertained. He played some music that most couples do not ask for, like the Pixies, which made my husband happy. Mike took request from our guest even towards the end of the night when he should have been finishing he made time to play "California Girls" for my family who was in from California. Mike was also very professional when we arrived at the reception venue he came to greet us and let us know how everything was going to work. He helped to make sure the night ran smoothly and would let us know when it was time for the toast, the first dance, etc. We originally did not want a DJ, but now we are so glad we went with Mike. He really helped make our reception a fun, stress-free time.

Michael was an excellent choice for our DJ! He was very organized, helpful, and understood the flow of the wedding which led to an excellent reception. Michael was very personable to us and our guests throughout (and after) the entire process. Overall, I don't think we could have found a better DJ than Michael, and will recommend him in the future!

Michael and Crystal were absolutely wonderful! We wanted our wedding to be elegant and sophisticated, but still fun, and they made that happen. Everyone from our guests, to our bridal party, to our families, was impressed with Michael Lauren Weddings.

We came to Michael with maybe 3 ideas for our wedding, and he came to us with dozens of better ones. We chose him because he has chosen to do weddings only, and we felt that reflected a stronger committment to the event. We were right - he and his wife did a wonderful job.

Michael Lauren weddings did an absoluely fantastic job. To be honest I didn't realize how fabulous they were until I went to another wedding a few weeks later. They took the time to get to know me, my fiancé and our guests before the wedding, so my reception was stress free!!! I attended another wedding where the dj had to keep calling the bride & groom out on the dance floor in order to get others to dance. My husband I were never called out on the dance floor to try to get things going, our dj was capable of that on his own!

I started working with Mike while I was still in Iraq. He made the transition back to the states for all the final planning super easy. He had alot of ideas and it made everything run smoothly. He kept the wedding reception dancing and even a little ont he fly karoake. WE HAD A BLAST!!!

LOOK NO FURTHER!!!! The utmost professional, Mike provided the sound for our officiant and musicians during our outdoor ceremony as well as DJ services during the dinner and reception. He is FANTASTIC! He is easy to reach, follows-up as planned, and will make the music portion of your wedding and reception low-stress and a huge SUCCESS! The ceremony music and our officiant were easily heard by our guests. The dinner and reception lighting was elegant and beautiful. Our dance floor was full all night long and everyone commented on how great the songs were. All of our guests were having so much fun that we ended up asking Mike and his wife (who is just as wonderful) to continue the music a little longer, because no one wanted the party to end! He was full of great ideas and tips to enhance our reception. He contacted our event coordinator and photographer ahead of time to ensure that everything would flow as planned. In our opinion, if you have decided to go with a DJ for your wedding, MIKE IS THE OBVIOUS CHOICE!!!!

Mike Westerman from Premier Sound did an awesome job on our big day! He emailed and met with us a couple of times before the wedding, making sure he understood exactly what we wanted played at our wedding and when. He was very flexible, waiting until the day of to receive the song the wedding party walked down the aisle to. Everything sounded perfect and went as smoothly as possible. His equipment was great quality and he took care of playing our video as well, which was above and beyond what is expected of most DJs. He found us a couple of times during the event to make sure we were comfortable with the timing of everything. He set up early and came back early to ensure that he was ready to go well in advance. The floor was packed all night until we had to kick everyone out. I definitely recommend Mike for your wedding or event!
