Great Team of people working here. The servers were absolutely wonderful, called me by name and offered congrats, which was very sweet. The food was DELICIOUS!!!! I have to say my favorite part was the pasta dish in our buffet line, but everything was top quality. Also, a really nice touch: they had kids meals for the younger kids that weren't too keen on our buffet line. Chicken fingers make almost any kid happy! They did an excellent job and everyone was able to eat in a timely manner!

Patty Long Catering provided an outstanding catering service, especiallly consultant Jenny Madras. She provided guidance along the way and the end result was superb.

We had our daughters wedding and reception at the City Museum and Patty Long was a choice for catering. My sister had used them for their wedding so we decided to go with Patty Long. The experience was wonderful. We never felt like we were asking too many questions. Working with Jenny Madras was like having your own personal wedding planner. The set up was professional and the food was outstanding.

This venue is absolutely spectacular. We recently moved to St. Louis and our guests were from the D.C. and Philadelphia areas. They remarked all night about how unique and gorgeous the venue looked. Candles on the tables were really pretty with the cathedral windows, and the beauty of the abbey just made the evening magical. The staff there is wonderful and very creative. The food was very good. It was absolutely perfect and the most beautiful wedding ever!

My husband and I had both our ceremony and reception at Patty Long's Ninth Street Abbey in October 2009. It was a 6 p.m. service (the sun was just setting making the stained-glass windows exceptionally beautiful). Our guests greatly appreciated not having to drive between the the ceremony and reception or having to entertain themselves during down time (the cocktail hour immediately followed the ceremony and took place on the adjacent patio area which was covered in white Christmas lights with votive candles on the tables). After a 45-minute cocktail hour (open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres and a cheese and cracker station) we went back inside for dinner. The food was stellar, truly above par compared to other venues in a similar price bracket. Since we chose a buffet with a mashed potato station, our guests were able to go back for seconds (or thirds!), so no one went home hungry. Also, there was enough variety that meat-eaters or vegetarians found plenty to make them happy. In case anyone is curious, this was our menu: roasted pear salad with candied walnuts, roast beef in a port mushroom demi, chicken in a rose sauce, mediterranean pasta, tri-colored rice medley, soulard market vegetables, the FABULOUS mashed potato station, and rolls and butter. For dessert, we had our wedding cake and a dessert buffet (three kinds of pie, cookies, candy, cannolis) and Patty Long's gourmet coffee bar. The coffee bar was huge hit, as was the dessert buffet. But the best part of the entire night (aside from getting married) was the service. It was like having an independent wedding planner, but it was really just the Patty Long staff doing what they do best. Leading up to our wedding, the staff made recommendations for other vendors that were so helpful. Phone calls and emails were returned in a timely manner. And on our wedding day, everything was handled very efficiently, but we never felt rushed. I was totally relaxed, which is something I wish for every bride on her wedding day. And while my husband and I loved the Abbey, we would strongly recommend Patty Long Catering for any venue (the Point of View or the Science Center were strong contenders, but it just had to be the Abbey for us). Hope this helps--Happy planning!

We worked with Jenny Madras here and absolutely adored her. The space is so unique and really is just beautiful! We were a little disappointed in the food but other than that things went really well. We were quite pleased with everything overall!

Gorgeous location. No need for a wedding planner when you do it here- they took care of everything as far as timing of wedding. Food was excellent too!

Andrea and her amazing staff at the 9th street abbey were fantastic. We had our ceremony and our reception there back to back and they effortlessly made the transition perfectly. They were always available through email or phone and were willing to work on a menu and look we wanted for the Abbey. So many places only let you do so much with their space, so having an open door policy where we were able to bring ideas to the table too was really cherished. The selection of heavy hors d’Oeuvres (those mushroom sliders were truly amazing BTW!!) we chose worked out super with the staff doing passed hors d’Oeuvres and stations. All of the food tasted like it did during out tasting and we received plenty of compliments on them. Bartenders were great pourers and super accommodating to our guests, they couldn’t have been better. I just love the look of the venue & loved how they worked with my vendors and not dictating to them like you see at so many other venues. Egos all in check here!
